“Hi-Rollr” is slang in the historic Boontling language based in nearby Boonville in Northern California. It was created in the 1890s. The lingo has become somewhat infamous, at least in local circles or within the legends of California, owing to its small-town nature and curious-sounding nomination, as well as its very limited speakership. Historically, “Hi-Rollr” in Boontling was defined as someone from Yorkville who had his pant legs rolled up in order to cross the river going to town.
