Style: dry, modern, out-of-the-box; when did you last see a Petit Verdot Rosé?
Color: electric crimson

This is our inaurgural vintage of a rosé made from Petit Verdot grapes.It is quite similar to the rosé wines we produced that last several vintages from Malbec grapes. Yet once we thought of trying this, we just couldn't resist. And we're very pleased and have been enjoying it as the weather has been turning warmer providing more opportunities for outdoor meals.
Grapes were gently crushed and the skins were left in contact with the juice for a couple hours when it was pressed to a tank. Two days later it was racked into barrels for fermentation. Fermentation continued for 21 days until dryness. We used seasoned French oak barrels for this wine. After four months in oak, the wine was racked into a tank, then gently fined, and loosely filtered before bottling. Meant to be consumed fresh - this year is best.
