Boonville: Take a low-tech excursion to this quiet town
Yorkville Cellars makes an easy stop. Set back from the road and surrounded by organic vineyards that rise up and out of the fog at 1,100 feet, this picturesque property is, according to owner Edward Wallo, "the only known winery to grow and bottle as a separate varietal all eight of the main Bordeaux grapes." Do try a chocolate ball injected with the winery's 2008 Merlot, and keep your eyes open for sheep munching weeds between the vines (in spring, watch for darling baby lambs, too).
