2007 Malbec

Our Malbec continues to be one of only a handful produced in California and we’re very proud of it. Aromas of red berries and rhubarb with clove and black pepper spice notes. A hearty red with rich, round fruit flavors of dark cherry and boysenberry nicely balanced with a milk chocolate mid-palate and featuring a lingering finish. Pairs very nicely with a well prepared steak.

Winemaker's notes

Harvested on October 10th, the grapes were gently crushed into an open top fermenter, cold soaked and innoculated with Paasteur Red and Premiere Cuvee yeasts. After fermentation reached dryness, the wines were aged in French oak barrels for about 19 months before bottling. Enjoy this wine in its relative youth, when the fruit flavors star. Drink by end of 2014.

Classic match is duck with orange sauce,

but we like to pair with lamb, as well. RECIPE
