Sat. Feb 20 — San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Tasting at Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason, San Francisco, CA 2-5pm. We will feature our two GOLD Medal winners: Cabernet Franc and Merlot. [click here for info]. $60 in advance; admittance, if tickets still available the day of the tasting, are $80 at the door.

February Special

This month we're featuring our 2007 Rennie Vineyard Merlot. Among wines Merlot has fallen a bit out of favor in America recently. Yet it continues to be the #1 grape planted in Bordeaux and it therefore is important in some of the most celebrated expensive wines in the world. Light herbal aromas, with spice and berries. Bright red fruit- cherry to boysenberry, splash of cranberry. Medium bodied mid-palate, but a structured finish, showing a hint of smokiness and some lingering tannins.

Sat. May 22 — "Uncorked" - The 5th Annual Ghirardelli Square Wine Festival, 900 North Point, St. San Francisco, CA.1-6pm. Enjoy live music, wine seminars and chef demonstrations at this free event.
